Finally An Answer From VZW - The Nexus Prime
Galaxy Nexus (Nexus Prime) Verizon release date tipped again:
'via Blog this'
For those of you who were disgruntled by last months SGSII theatrics, there is a light at the end of the tunnel for those on Big Red's network. Those who were unable to get their hands on one of the coveted Android Handsets have something new to look forward to and something to brag about. The new Nexus phone (googles premier line of devices) is being made by Samsung and has been dubbed the Nexus Prime rumored to release on Nov. 10th. It will have the newest version of Android - Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0!!!), 5MP camera, 1.0 Ghz of Ram and a new curved glass screen. This may be what the execs over at Verizon were waiting for in keeping their loyal customers away from the Galaxy SII. This phone should without doubt take the top spot on the podium but with a handful of other new handsets such as the new Droid RAZR, this could prove to be quite the showdown.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Launching in the U.S on August 29 | Samsung Galaxy S 2
Samsung has been hiding its newly renowned gem, the Galaxy SII, from the U.S. for quite some time now but the fog has begun to clear as some light has been shed on a fairly certain release date. The release of the SGSII to U.S. carriers has been a topic of much speculation and conversation for much of the summer months with one expected release date falling to the next. Now Samsung has made a bit of an error in allowing those outside the realm of company personnel to know about the future plans for this device.
Why do we believe they have made an error you may ask?
Samsung has rivaled the British Secret Service in their top secret plans with this device as they were attempting to keep information out of reach their super rival-- Apple Inc. With the rumors of an iPhone 5 looming over the horizon, Samsung has done its best to create the worlds best iPhone Killer (the Galaxy SII) without letting any details slip through the cracks to the public eye. Now if you were one of the worlds leading technology providers, and you were about to release one of your most coveted products ever, wouldn't you want to throw a party? Well, that's exactly what Samsung plans to do.
Samsung sent out invitations for a party related to a "major product announcement in New York" scheduled to take place at 6PM on August 29th.. At this point you might start to get a tickle in your spine but its gets better; the invitations were also emblazoned with bold "II" the symbol for the SGSII. I don't know about you but I think its time to get to NY and join the party. Its finally here!

TodayXLive Gives You A WP7 Feel On WM6.1+ | xda-developers
In the rising world of Android and iOS many seem to allow the new WP7 to take a backseat in the mobile world, but this shouldn't be the case. Many WP7 users very much like the UI and quality of the operating system and theres been some notable growth in the WP7 market share.
Unfortunately, there is a key problem with the OS. It can only run on devices that meet the minimum requirements (which exist on phones that have been produced for the last 6-8 months). If you have an older device running WinMo 6.x then you haven't been able to enjoy the luxury o WP7. As of now there have been a number of developers over at XDA who have worked on programs and applications to mimic the look and feel of WP7 but none have been as successful and seamless as the new program TodayXLive. It is a WP7 program that can run on one's WinMo 6.x device. So far its in Beta testing but still an outstanding program. Head over to XDA to check out the program and give it a try. It's nice to see that us WinMo users still can try out the latest and greatest Microsoft puts out there. Enjoi

Is Big Microsoft Stepping Up Their Game?!?
To the general world which runs on the Microsoft OS, our beloved Software developer has released a new ploy in hopes of gaining a better foothold of the younger computer target market. They have yet to publicly announce this new ploy but its quite a nice deal for all who are prospective laptop purchasers as of today.
Beginning today, with the purchase of any PC valued over $699, consumers will also receive a FREE XBOX 360!
This is a huge gamble for Microsoft considering that their XBox 360 is priced anywhere from $200-$300 depending on your preferred specs. In an industry where the younger buyers are trending toward Apple's sleek Macbook (and Pro) series, Microsoft is hoping that it can secure a portion of these buyers in an attempt to reestablish their market share (because its steadily declining in laptop purchases). Be sure to check back about further details and the success of this new campaign but for now, get to your local retailer and consider a new PC. Enjoi

Apple takes to the Court yet again!
Oh, Apple! When Will You Learn? | xda-developers
The big Apple is at it again. They enjoy suing mega-companies such as Amazon for copyright infringement of the App store name and now they're after Samsung. Currently Apple Inc. is upset with Samsung for infringing on intellectual property rights. They've left a number of sued companies in their wake (HTC, Nokia, and Google to name a few) and Samsung will hopefully come out on top. Their new Touchwiz UI is very similar to the OS running on Apple's beloved iPad, iPhone, and iPod. Check back later for an update on the matter.

PPCGeeks.com » UPDATE: BlackBerry Messenger Coming To iPhone April 26th – FALSE
For many of you in the business world or those who simply do love you Blackberry, you're probably quite familiar with the application Blackberry Messenger (BBM). The application assigns your phone a number and different users can hold conversations in a chat style format with up to 2000 characters per message.
For years it has been a big selling point for the mobile devices but recently rumor had it that the iOS as well as Android would have a working version to expand the market usage. Unfortunately for the iPhone lovers out there but this might be the first app your phone doesn't get. This is rare but a recent update stated that only Android users would have access to the program until a later date T.B.D.

PPCGeeks.com » [DISCUSSION] Can Motorola build an Operating System better than Android/iOS?
With a number of different operating systems surfacing in the market it's no wonder that long time electronics maker Motorola is jumping on the band wagon. They've recently hired a number of developers from Apple, Adobe, among other noteworthy companies with plans to develop its own operating system.
The question is: CAN IT COMPETE!?!
When discussed with Motorola representatives, they have no intention of abandoning their current operating system provider -- Google's Android. They simply plan on adding their own. Think they'll be able to pull off such a scheme?

Spice Up Your Boot Screen With HTC-Inspired Boot Animations | xda-developers
For all out there who have attempted to flash a new ROM onto their mobile device, many of you may have taken note that there are a variety of boot screens that come up when turning on your device. If you haven't noticed this phenomenon then go ahead and soft reset your phone to see what happens when you turn it on. Not that it matters too much except for that many of didn't know you can customize what you see when power on your phone.
Luckily, a member over at XDA compiled a great amount of Boot animations to spice up the flare on your HTC device. If you flashed a new ROM and don't exactly like what you see or you simply want a change of pace for HTC, give this a look and I'm sure your eyes will be quite pleased. If you happen to use any of the boot animations go ahead and take a screen shot and post it in a comment or email it to me and I'll make sure it gets some attention on the blogosphere.

Motorola recognizes, investigates Atrix 4G voice quality issues -- Engadget
UH OH. For all of the Atrix 4G users out there, this is not the best news in the world. If you're experiencing some voice quality issues with your device then join the club. This issue has been reported enough to the point AT&T is making a note of it. I'm having a bit of Deja Vu looking back at the iphone 4 release and antenna issues. AT&T may have just jumped in market share but they certainly haven't rid themselves of all the technical issues in their devices. If you would like to see what others are saying or how they're treating the issue head over to Motorola's support page (https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/45510?start=0&tstart=0) and keep up to date on any progress being made. Until then, I hope the Atrix has some killer SMS/email abilities. Enjoi

Should Big Red grab Sprint?! What do you think??
PPCGeeks.com » [DISCUSSION] Should Verizon buy Sprint? What do you think?
With the recent purchase AT&T made in buying T-Mobile, there's been some speculation of other Wireless broadband consolidation. Should Verizon Wireless take over Sprint?!? Verizon currently controls 31.3% of the cellular market while Sprint holds 16.1%. Together the two would be an nice 47.4% (for all you calculus fans). AT&T controlled 26.6% of the market before its acquisition of T-Mobile with 12.2% share putting it at comfy top spot with 38.8% market share. Verizon, as a result of AT&T's acquisition, is no longer the top dog in the Wireless provider game and some changes might need to be made in order to regain top market share. While consolidation means less competition among the big guys there's still some advantages of the idea. Spring is hardly using a large portion of their "wireless spectrum" and Verizon could help utilize such potential. Anyway check out the comments over at PPCGeeks to see what others think and leave a note yourself. Enjoi

Iphone + Android = Wonderful
If you're one of the recent VZW iphone users who has anticipated the iphone 4's arrival for a couple of years now, you may have a bit of buyer's remorse with the upcoming and quick moving Android phone lineup on the market. It's not secret that Google is growing from the Droid and Eris a year ago to the powerhouse of an operating system it is today. With an app market that is surpassing the Apple market soon, Android is to many users, the premier operating system. This puts a bit of a kink in the plan for those who have waited to get the iphone on their Verizon service. The iphone undoubtedly has the best touchscreen in the business with its glass 3.5 inch multitouch display featuring an 800:1 contrast ratio and 500cd/m2 max brightness. Now that Apple has nearly made their device bulletproof the glass will hopefully not break.
In better news, for all you with that buyer's remorse, the beloved device now runs the beloved operating system. Adroid has successfully been ported to the new iphone 4! You can run both Android and iOS on the same device giving you the best of both worlds. No need to put the iphone in a blender or pawn it off on ebay now. If you're interested in unlocking such greatness follow the link.
